DEPTH AND DIVERSITY
A workforce both skilled and trainable with an unrivaled talent pool nearby.
Henderson and Vance County offers growing companies a labor force of more than 1.1 million people within 45-miles (the population in this same radius is over 2 million). With US-1 and I-85 intersecting in the county, that means Vance County is in easy commuting distance for good jobs. And with the high concentration of college graduates in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill MSA, Vance County has a tremendous talent pool available for skilled and executive positions.
According to the U.S. Census, Vance County has an unusually high number of workers engaged in manufacturing, agriculture, and forestry, fishing and hunting. Other strong employment sectors include healthcare and retail. The highest paying industries are utilities, finance and insurance services, and professional, scientific and technical services. This is a labor force that works hard and offers diverse skill sets for companies.
WORKER RECRUITMENT AND SCREENING
The Vance County office of North Carolina’s Employment Security Commission helps to match employers with potential employees and job openings at no cost to participating companies. North Carolina is the only state with a 100-day no fault period for new employees.
